Data Security & AI
We handle sensitive transaction data — purchase agreements, financial models, privileged communications — with restricted access, reputable providers, and commercially reasonable safeguards. This page describes how, in enough detail that you and your clients can evaluate it.
The short version, in five lines.
- Access is restricted. Our policy limits access to deal information to the people working on your engagement and the service providers and placement participants needed to support it.
- Reputable platforms only. Established cloud and business systems with encryption in transit and at rest.
- NDAs are standard. Mutual NDAs with referral partners and clients on request.
- No public AI tools for client materials. Our policy prohibits entering confidential deal information into consumer-grade or personal AI accounts. WolfTRI uses company subscriptions with established providers, subject to each vendor’s then-current settings and terms.
- Retention is purposeful. Records kept as long as legal and business needs require, then deleted or archived.
How we approach deal data
Every engagement involves confidential deal information. We treat that information with the seriousness it deserves: shared only as needed to market and place insurance or support an active engagement, stored using reputable service providers, and handled by personnel with a direct business need. We do not sell personal information. Mutual NDAs are available and executed as standard practice with referral partners and their clients.
Our security practices continue to mature as the firm grows. We are committed to using appropriate administrative, technical, and operational safeguards, and we welcome due-diligence questions from clients and counsel at any time.
Administrative & technical controls
WolfTRI maintains written information-security and incident-response procedures appropriate for its size, systems, vendor relationships, and the sensitivity of transaction information it handles. A non-exhaustive summary:
Multi-factor authentication
MFA enabled where supported. Access to client data is restricted to individuals with a direct business need for a given engagement.
Restricted handling
Sensitive materials move through controlled workflows designed to limit unnecessary access. Information is shared internally only as needed.
In transit & at rest
Encryption in transit and at rest is used where supported by our underlying systems and service providers.
Reputable platforms
Established cloud and business platforms for data storage, communication, and engagement management.
Logging & audit
Systems that provide access logging and audit capabilities where available through our platform providers.
Confidentiality terms
Confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements as appropriate with personnel, referral partners, and clients.
Information sharing
Client information is shared only as necessary to support brokerage and placement — including with insurance insurers, underwriters, and other parties directly involved in the process. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for their own marketing. When working with third-party service providers, we seek reputable vendors and appropriate data-protection terms where applicable.
Retention & deletion
Engagement records are retained in accordance with business, legal, and operational needs. When records are no longer required, they are deleted or archived consistent with applicable obligations using commercially reasonable methods. As a matter of practice, client data is not stored on personal devices or unauthorized cloud services.
How AI is used — and limited
We use AI tools selectively and with purpose: research synthesis, market monitoring, drafting, and internal workflow support — never to make coverage recommendations, negotiate with insurers, or finalize client-facing policy language without senior review. Our policy prohibits entering confidential deal information — deal terms, purchase agreements, client names, or transaction details — into consumer-grade or personal AI accounts.
WolfTRI stores client materials in Microsoft OneDrive / Microsoft 365 cloud storage and may use company subscriptions with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Perplexity for work support, subject to confidentiality obligations, client instructions, and each vendor’s then-current product settings and terms. Vendor privacy, retention, and training settings vary by product tier; WolfTRI periodically reviews its configurations. Clients may request that WolfTRI not use external AI tools for a particular matter, and we will accommodate that preference where practical.
A leaner model, not an automated one. WolfTRI uses modern tools where they help, but RWI still depends on human judgment, careful policy review, ethics, and accountability when the question matters.
What you can tell your clients
Counsel and sponsors often need short answers for their own clients:
Who sees our deal information?
Is the data encrypted?
What happens after the deal closes?
How do you handle vendor security?
Can we get an NDA?
Can we discuss security in more detail?
Privacy

Separate engagement agreements, confidentiality obligations, insurance policies, intermediary terms, and service-provider terms may govern information exchanged during an actual transaction or insurance engagement.
Last updated: August 21, 2026
What this notice covers
This notice applies to the public pages of wolftri.com, including the Contact page. It does not describe or modify:
- the privacy practices of a user’s email or telephone provider;
- the terms of an insurer, wholesale intermediary, surplus-lines intermediary, claims administrator, or other transaction participant;
- the terms of Microsoft or another technology provider;
- a client’s own systems or advisers;
- a separate client engagement agreement;

- internal administrative systems not made available as a public service.
Inquiries through the Contact page
The website does not host a public deal-intake form. Visitors who choose to email or call WolfTRI transmit their message through their own email or telephone application; that inquiry may be stored in WolfTRI’s client-relationship system and used to respond to and assess the inquiry. Messages in languages other than English may be machine-translated for internal handling; the original text is retained alongside the translation. Inquiry data is retained only as long as needed for that purpose and, on request to info@wolftri.com, will be deleted unless retention is required by law, regulation, insurance recordkeeping obligations, or a litigation hold. Contacting WolfTRI does not create a client, brokerage, or engagement relationship and does not constitute notice under any insurance policy.
Information provided outside the public website
When a person emails, calls, or otherwise communicates outside the public website, WolfTRI may receive the information that person chooses to provide. Potential categories may include name, work email, telephone number, organization, professional role, general transaction context, inquiry topic, message content, and later correspondence.
The person providing the information and, where applicable, the client and its counsel should determine what may be shared and under what confidentiality, privilege, regulatory, or contractual restrictions.
Information exchanged after initial contact
Client files are stored using Microsoft OneDrive. Information exchanged during an engagement may include transaction agreements, disclosure materials, diligence information, insurer communications, policy drafts, issued policies, and post-binding records. Matter-specific confidentiality, access, retention, deletion, technology-use, and information-sharing requirements should be addressed before sensitive information is exchanged. See also Data Security & AI.
Technical information
Hosting, content-delivery, network, and browser infrastructure may process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the website. Depending on the request path and provider, this may include IP address, browser or device type, requested page, date and time, referring page, and basic diagnostic or security information. Fonts are served directly from the site; page templates do not request typography from a third-party font service.
Current public-site behavior
WolfTRI does not deploy its own analytics, advertising pixels, or nonessential cookies on the public site. The hosting platform collects limited technical and usage telemetry as part of operating and protecting the site, which WolfTRI may view in aggregate. Essential technical functions provided by a browser, hosting platform, or network provider may operate independently of WolfTRI’s page scripts.
Other websites and apps
The public website may contain links that open a visitor’s email application, telephone application, or another website. WolfTRI does not control the privacy, security, availability, or content of an external service merely because the public website links to it.
Why information may be used
- Responding to an inquiry;
- Assessing whether to discuss a potential engagement;
- Coordinating an active insurance-placement process;
- Communicating with the client and authorized advisers;
- Addressing licensing, compliance, compensation, or vendor-review matters;
- Supporting post-binding policy and claim-related coordination;
- Maintaining appropriate business and regulatory records;
- Protecting the website and business from misuse; and
- Complying with applicable law and legal process.
Not every purpose applies to every item of information.
Information sharing
Depending on the matter, information may be shared, as appropriate, with the client and authorized representatives; deal or coverage counsel; diligence providers and other advisers authorized by the client; licensed wholesale and surplus-lines intermediaries; insurers; claims administrators; specialists involved in a post-binding matter; technology and business service providers; governmental or regulatory authorities where legally required; and other parties authorized by the client or required for the engagement.
The appropriate recipients and scope of disclosure depend on the transaction, engagement, policy, applicable law, and client instructions.
Retention depends on the matter
Retention and deletion expectations should be addressed as part of the client’s matter-specific requirements before confidential information is exchanged. WolfTRI may need to retain certain records to satisfy legal, regulatory, insurance, contractual, professional, operational, or recordkeeping obligations.
Public summaries do not replace diligence
WolfTRI can arrange a discussion with its technology consultant regarding reasonable prospective-client security questions. No method of electronic storage or communication is risk-free, and the public website should not be used to transmit confidential transaction materials. See Data Security & AI for additional context.

Firm identity and geographic scope
Wolf Transactional Risk, LLC (“WolfTRI”) is a Delaware limited liability company, qualified to transact business in Illinois and licensed as an Illinois resident business entity insurance producer, focused on representations and warranties insurance placement. Licensing details, National Producer Numbers, non-resident licensing, wholesale placement structure, personnel limits, and E&O coverage are set out on the Licenses page.
WolfTRI™ and the wolf-head design are trademarks of Wolf Transactional Risk, LLC. WolfTRI’s services are offered for placements in the U.S. insurance market and require a U.S.-based named insured; this website is directed at participants in U.S. transactions, and is not directed at consumers in the European Union or the United Kingdom. The machine-translation feature is provided for convenience only.
The website is informational
The website provides general information regarding WolfTRI, representations and warranties insurance, transactional-risk placement, and WolfTRI’s operating model. Website content is not a quotation, binder, policy, coverage determination, legal opinion, tax opinion, accounting opinion, investment recommendation, valuation, or promise that insurance will be available. Insurance availability, capacity, pricing, retention, exclusions, policy language, and terms vary by transaction and are subject to underwriting, authorization, applicable law, and final documentation.
This website constitutes general advertising and is not directed at any specific person or entity. Nothing on this website should be construed as a solicitation of business from any client or prospective client of any other organization. The information on this website is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial, or insurance advice. Users should not take or refrain from taking any action based solely on the content of this website without first seeking appropriate professional counsel.
Industry pricing and market norms
Statements regarding industry pricing practices, fee structures, and market norms reflect WolfTRI’s understanding of customary market practices based on its founder’s professional experience, insurer interviews, and publicly available information, and are provided as general market commentary. These statements do not refer to any specific competitor, do not constitute representations about any particular firm’s pricing, and should not be relied upon as a basis for evaluating any other broker’s services. WolfTRI encourages all prospective clients to independently evaluate and compare broker compensation structures.
Insurance broker only
WolfTRI places surplus-lines RWI through a licensed wholesale broker. WolfTRI does not itself hold surplus-lines licenses; that is why placements run through the wholesale broker. The insured is charged the same cost WolfTRI pays that wholesale broker. WolfTRI does not charge a separate retail broker fee. Premiums, underwriting fees, surplus-lines taxes and fees, stamping or filing charges, and other third-party costs may still apply. Scott Wolf is licensed to practice law in Illinois and is registered with the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois (ARDC #6310517). Wolf Transactional Risk, LLC is an insurance brokerage, not a law firm. It does not provide legal services, and its services are provided under the standards applicable to licensed insurance producers. As an Illinois lawyer, Scott Wolf remains personally subject to the Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct — including the duties of honesty and integrity that govern a lawyer’s conduct in any business. Scott Wolf is not acting as an attorney on any transaction facilitated through this firm, and no attorney-client relationship is formed. Clients should consult their own legal counsel for advice regarding purchase agreements and specific legal liabilities.
Insurance coverage is subject to individual underwriting approval. WolfTRI does not guarantee that any specific risk will be bound or that any specific claim will be paid. Quotes and indications provided are non-binding; final coverage terms, conditions, and pricing are determined solely by the issuing insurer.
Career statistics and prior organizations
Unless otherwise indicated, engagement and transaction statistics cited on this website reflect the experience of the founder and team members at prior organizations. Wolf Transactional Risk, LLC is an independent firm with no affiliation with or endorsement by those prior entities. No confidential or proprietary information of any prior employer is used in WolfTRI’s marketing or operations. Deal descriptions are anonymized where appropriate.
Wolf Transactional Risk team members may hold professional credentials from prior careers — including legal, finance, or investment banking backgrounds. Those credentials inform the judgment brought to placement work but do not authorize the firm or its personnel to provide legal services, investment advice, securities brokerage, or any service other than insurance brokerage. Team members do not act in those prior professional capacities on behalf of WolfTRI or its clients.
Website use does not create a brokerage relationship
Visiting the website, preparing an email, sending an inquiry, or speaking with WolfTRI does not by itself create an insurance-brokerage engagement or obligate WolfTRI to act. A brokerage engagement is established only through an appropriate written agreement or other documentation expressly accepted by WolfTRI and the client.
The website does not quote or bind coverage
WolfTRI acts as the client-facing insurance producer and accesses insurers through appropriately licensed U.S. wholesale and, where applicable, surplus-lines intermediaries. WolfTRI does not independently bind an insurer without applicable authorization. No website statement, prefilled email template, general communication, estimate, illustration, or discussion constitutes a binder or policy. Only applicable authorized placement documentation can evidence binding.
Website contact is not policy notice
Submitting a website inquiry, preparing or sending an email, or speaking with WolfTRI does not by itself constitute notice to an insurer, claims administrator, or intermediary. Policyholders should comply with the notice provisions, recipients, delivery methods, and deadlines in the applicable policy and should consult appropriate counsel.
Do not use the public website as a confidential document channel
The public website should not be used to transmit purchase agreements, disclosure schedules, diligence reports, privileged material, personal information, policy documents, claim records, or other confidential files. WolfTRI does not represent that a website inquiry or communication involving WolfTRI, an intermediary, insurer, or other placement participant is protected by attorney-client privilege, work-product protection, common-interest protection, or another legal protection. The client and its counsel should determine what information may be shared, with whom, and under what restrictions.

Machine translation
Some pages can be viewed in languages other than English through automated translation. That is a convenience feature, not a certified translation. Wording may be imperfect or incomplete. If a translated page and the English page differ — or anything is unclear — the English version controls. When it matters, confirm with WolfTRI in English.
Calculators and other tools
The site may include automated tools such as an illustrative savings calculator and, from time to time, other automated or AI-assisted features. Their output is generated automatically, can be wrong or incomplete, and is not advice, a quotation, indication, binder, or a statement of coverage. Confirm anything that matters directly with WolfTRI before relying on it.
Use of the public website
The website is provided for general informational purposes. To the extent permitted by applicable law, WolfTRI does not make a representation that the public website will address a particular user’s circumstances or remain continuously available.

This paragraph addresses the public website only — any executed engagement agreement, binder, or policy is governed by its own terms.
Illinois law governs website use
These terms and any dispute arising out of use of the public website are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, and the state and federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute. This section addresses the public website only; engagement agreements and insurance placement documents contain their own governing-law and dispute provisions.

| State | Entity producer (WolfTRI) | Designated/responsible licensed producer |
|---|---|---|
| Illinois (resident) | NPN 22075776 | NPN 18716467 |
Non-resident licenses
WolfTRI transacts insurance only in jurisdictions where it is licensed or otherwise authorized to do so. Where a placement involves a state that requires a non-resident producer license, WolfTRI obtains that license before performing any activity for which the license is required; non-resident producer licenses are generally issued through the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) within days. WolfTRI’s licenses can be verified through the NAIC State Based Systems lookup at sbs.naic.org using the NPNs above. This list will expand over time and will be updated here as new state licenses are issued. If you have a question about a specific state in advance of a placement, contact us and we will confirm current status.
Licensing information on this page is current as of August 21, 2026.
Nationwide placements
Where a transaction requires jurisdiction-specific authority, WolfTRI confirms applicable producer, surplus-lines, wholesale, and filing requirements before binding. Surplus-lines filings, taxes, and stamping requirements vary by jurisdiction and are handled in accordance with applicable law and the relevant placement documentation.
Role clarity in a placement
WolfTRI provides insurance brokerage services as a licensed producer, supported by licensed U.S. wholesale-market infrastructure. The insurer underwrites and issues the policy. Client counsel remains responsible for legal advice, transaction documents, diligence conclusions, and policy-form review.
How WolfTRI is paid
WolfTRI is compensated by commission paid by the insurer and included in the policy premium, received through the licensed wholesale broker on the placement; the commission rate varies by transaction, insurer, and structure. On smaller placements the commission is subject to a customary minimum, which is likewise included in the premium and is never invoiced separately. WolfTRI does not charge clients a separate retail broker fee, does not mark up the wholesale broker’s or the insurer’s charges, and does not accept contingent, supplemental, volume-based, or override compensation on RWI placements. The amount of WolfTRI’s compensation on a specific placement is available to the client on request before binding.
If WolfTRI ever proposes to charge a fee in addition to commission, the fee will be disclosed in writing in advance in accordance with applicable law, including 215 ILCS 5/500-80(e).
Professional liability / E&O coverage
WolfTRI maintains Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance coverage for insurance brokerage services. Current policy information is available to clients and counsel during diligence.
Where WolfTRI transacts
WolfTRI transacts insurance only in jurisdictions where it is licensed or otherwise authorized to do so. See Non-resident licenses and Nationwide placements above.
What other personnel do
Other WolfTRI personnel do not solicit, negotiate, or sell insurance and do not receive commission on policies placed by the firm.
Not legal, tax, or investment advice
WolfTRI provides insurance brokerage and producer services only — nothing on this site is legal, tax, or investment advice. See the Terms of Use.
